COMVEC™ Event Format
You can attend sessions in your area of experience or learn about different technologies and meet new people. COMVEC is great for making personal connections and putting faces to names.
Symposia
Symposia sessions are focused on strategic- and business-related issues. After each of the panelists provide their opening statements, Q&A will follow. The goal of the symposia is to reflect the hottest topics that our members find most relevant and valuable. The symposia are generally higher attended sessions. All presentation materials will be shared with conference attendees after the event.
Technical panels
Technical panels are more in-depth sessions on specific topics. Each technical panel will be an interactive session followed by Q&A. These sessions are geared toward individuals working in the technology area and also to individuals wanting to learn more about these technologies. All presentation materials will be shared with conference attendees after the event.
Buckendale Lecture
The lecture provides procedures and data useful in formulating solutions. The lecture is directed primarily by an industry leader to the needs of young engineers and students with emphasis on practical aspects of the topic.
Exhibits/Vendors
Companies participate to present their products and services. Young professionals and all attendees are encouraged to introduce themselves to exhibiting companies to hear about their technologies.
Committee Involvement
Meet with SAE technical committee chairs/vice chairs, ask questions, and learn more about the COMVEC Committees on Aerodynamics, Chassis, Powertrain, and Total Vehicle Mechatronics & Integration. SAE is actively seeking new members for these committees. Representatives from the SAE committees planning sessions at COMVEC will be available Wednesday morning from 8:00-9:00 a.m. to answer any questions for prospective committee members. Additional staff will be available to discuss other committee involvement within SAE.
Networking functions
Plan to network with fellow attendees during all the networking breaks, lunches, and evening receptions.
