SAE Senior Celebrations: Dylan Konop

A lifelong love for vehicles inspired Dylan Konop’s journey into engineering.

“After working on cars with my dad and frequently being in a machine shop, I knew I wanted to continue designing, building, and maintaining cars and other vehicles,” the Bradley University mechanical engineering major said.

As Konop navigated his years at Bradley, SAE International played a big part in his experience. Through his involvement with SAE, he’s connected with mentors, advisors, and resources that have provided opportunities he wouldn’t have found elsewhere. Connecting with longtime SAE member and 2020 Contributor of the Year Dean Case was a highlight for Konop.

“I met Dean after he spoke to Bradley’s chapter of SAE and we’ve connected a few times after that,” Konop said. “Just hearing his advice and the people he knows is inspiring. The way he connects people with opportunities is like none other.”

Konop will start his engineering career at Milwaukee Tool following his graduation, and plans to use his career journey to make an impact on people’s lives.
