This 2-day foundational-level course builds on geometric dimensioning and tolerancing fundamentals and teaches an introduction of how to inspect GD&T requirements.
The course offers an explanation of the geometric symbols, rules, and concepts, the datum system, and how to inspect GD&T requirements using tools from the four categories of inspection tools (CMM; comparison instruments and fixed gages; hand tools and open set up; and production gaging systems).

The scope of the workshop includes how to locate a part for CMM inspection but not how to program the CMM to gather the data point.

This course is valuable for individuals who create or interpret engineering drawings, product and gage designers; process, product, and manufacturing engineers; supplier quality engineers/professionals; CMM operators; buyers/purchasers; checkers; inspectors; technicians; and sales engineers/professionals.
Participants should have basic knowledge and command of the GD&T ASME Y14.5 standard, which provide guidelines for engineering drawing sheet layout.
