Strategies to Successful Commercialization of Space-Based Technologies 2003-01-2338

This paper discusses the strategy and process used at the University of Florida's Environmental Systems Commercial Space Technology Center to move space-based technologies from a laboratory setting to the commercial market. The technologies relate specifically to environmental systems and biotechnologies used in supporting long-duration space flight. The process focuses on early stage identification of commercial potential and the need to address both technical and business factors related to the development and commercialization of the technology.
