Bendix Flameout Sensor for Turbine Engine Aircraft 640389

To provide desired engine restart capability and limit ignition operating time to a minimum, it was considered desirable to develop a flameout sensor. The compressor discharge pressure (CDP) was used as the most desirable sensing parameter to obtain positive indication of flameout.
Diagrams of the sensor and a brief description of its operation are given in this paper. Flight testing of the flameout sensor has proved its reliability.
