Emergency Parking Brakes for Utility Vehicles 680164

The purpose of this paper is to present data on a safety device which will, upon loss of air pressure, automatically, or when manually operated, apply the brakes of a vehicle.
It is now possible to provide an emergency braking system capable of stopping a vehicle in the event of a failure in the air brake system. The spring brake unit provides a failsafe feature. It also provides a positive parking brake.
