Acceleration and Braking Test Data Comparisons Using SAE Recommended Practices with Two Different instrument Schemes 871949
Existing vehicle performance test procedures and published test data for acceleration and braking are discussed. Further tests were performed using Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) recommended practices with two different instrumentation schemes: previously used fifth wheel instrumentation for acceleration and a brake detonator/marker for braking tests and a new accelerometer/microprocessor based system.
